This Company will Buy Fruits and Vegetables Directly from Farmers
Pune. The E-commerce company Amazon will buy fruits, vegetables, and grains directly from farmers in India. Through its project in Pune, Maharashtra, the company for the first time is shopping directly from the farmers.
Two sources related to this say that the company is working with hundreds of farmers in the area through Amazon Retail India Private Limited, a company associated with its food and retail business. The company will sell these products on Amazon Fresh and Amazon Pantry.
If this pilot project is successful, the company will expand this business in other areas of the country very fast. The company spokesperson said that we are developing a sustainable farm-to-fork (from farm to thali) model by investing in technology with farmers and government bodies.
