Organic Food Festival for Women Entrepreneurs from 21-23 February in Delhi
The Ministry of Food Processing Industries together with the Ministry of Women & Child Development will organize an organic food festival in Delhi later this month. The motive is to promote women entrepreneurship in the production as well as processing of organic products.
Food Processing Industries Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal told that in association with the Ministry of Women and Child Development, National Institute of Food Processing Technology Entrepreneurship and Management and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), her ministry will be in the office from 21 to 23 February 2020 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here Is organizing the fair. More than 150 women entrepreneurs, self-help groups and two cooperative groups from Gujarat are participating in it. Entrance to the fair will be free. She said that the maximum number of farmers in organic farming are in India, while in terms of area, we are ranked 9th in terms of organic farming. At present, the business of organic products in the country was Rs 2,700 crore in 2015, which will reach Rs 75,000 crore by 2025. The production of organic products in the country is very less compared to the demand. In view of this, there is a lot of opportunity in this area.
