Online Registration for PM KISAN to Expedite Implementation
New Delhi: The government plans to implement online registration for PM KISAN to accelerate the introduction of the income support scheme for farmers. A system will also be designed for the implementation of the farmers' pension scheme, which was announced after the first cabinet meeting of the new government. The government gives 6,000 a year to all farmers under PM KISAN.
The government so far has enrolled 36.6 million beneficiaries. Of these, 30.3 million have been paid the first instalment of 2,000 and 19.9 million have received the second instalment as well. "After opening this scheme for all farmers, the number of beneficiaries across the country is estimated to be 145 million. Taking every farmer under the net would be a time-consuming exercise. We would introduce processes which can curtail the time," a senior agriculture department official said.
