New technology to help farmers with the information on the condition of crops
Researchers from Noth Carolina have created a technology that allows farmers to detect crop-damaging diseases, that too with the help of their smartphones. This technique can be easily configured on your smartphones
Using this technology, farmers can assess which compound is being released by the leaves of their crops and the plant can be inspected once a week or a month and then sent to the sample lab. Jean Ristaino, professor of plant pathology at North Carolina State University, said the technology would help identify diseases quickly and would help in limiting the spread of disease and related crop loss. To detect the diseases in the crop, the farmer has to keep a leaf for 15 minutes for investigation, post which the problem related to it will become clear.
