Government targets to connect 10 crore farmers with PM-Kisan Yojana
The government aims to bring 10 crore farmers under the PM-Kisan Yojana this year. Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that 5.88 crore farmers have been paid the first instalment and 3.40 crore farmers have been paid the second instalment. The farmers falling under this scheme are given Rs 6,000 annually in three equal instalments.
The Agriculture Minister informed that all the states except West Bengal are participating in the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme. Delhi has also started sending the list of farmers. He said that we are aiming to reach 100 million farmers by the end of the year. He said that all the 14.5 farmers would be included under this scheme, irrespective of the size of their cultivated land.
