Chemical pesticides and fungicides are currently widely used for pest and disease control. This causes the following side-effects.
• Elements of chemical components are found in the product, which increases the prevalence of various diseases in both humans and animals.
• They are not controlled by the building immunity against chemicals used for the pests and diseases.
• The increase in farmers ' expenditure on most chemicals minimizes production.
• Biodiversity is reported to have adverse effects on the quality of water, climate, and soil.
• Integrated pest management and disease management are necessary.
Pest and Disease Management:
Apply sticky yellow and blue nets after sowing or after germination of the seeds. In crops, pheromone traps should be installed at the flowering stage. This makes it easier to understand the infestation and the amount of evidence of fruit sucking moth and fruit borer pests in the crop. Depending on the growth stage of the crop and the pest disease, the selection of the right chemicals makes spraying simpler. Organic chemicals should initially be used for spraying, and chemical pesticides must be used later. In addition, the same chemical should be avoided frequently in the crop. It is necessary to maintain the correct dosage, the appropriate time for spraying, and the correct method. It is also necessary to select the right sprayer nozzle for the machine for any insect, disease outbreak, and crop type. In addition, before mixing chemical pesticides/insecticides, it is important to check whether they are appropriate; it is also important to note that the prepared chemical should not last longer than two hours.
Proper Handling of Chemicals:
Friendly pests should be used for spraying. Empty chemical bottles and empty packets should be discarded after spraying and away from contact with children, livestock, birds, water, soil and air along with the crop. Spraying machines should be cleaned before and after use.
Taking into account the above factors, crop management will definitely reduce the use of additional chemicals and increase the quality of production by controlling pests and diseases.
