Exports of Jute products increased by 24%
In the last five years, exports of various types of jute products and their diversified products have increased by 24 percent. At the opening of the Jute Expo, Smriti Irani, Union Textile Minister, gave this information. She said that a 24 percent increase was recorded in the export of jute and its diversified products. Representatives from 14 countries and more than 70 buyers participated in this four-day exhibition. On this occasion, Raghavendra Singh, Textile Secretary, said that the Ministry is trying to find ways to increase weavers' incomes and is also trying to connect them with textile manufacturers.
He said that in 40 different districts of the country, the Ministry assisted weavers and craftsmen in a variety of ways. In partnership with the Central Ministry of Women and Child Development and other related parties, the Minister of Textiles has taken this initiative.
