encourage honey production
New Delhi. Government will encourage large scale production of honey to increase employment opportunities in rural and tribal areas. Union Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Nitin Gadkari said that they will soon roll out a relevant policy.
Gadkari discussed the creation of employment opportunities through the promotion of honey production by Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in the meeting with Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thavarchand Gehlot, and Minister of Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda. Gadkari tweeted that all the related departments will soon meet to discuss on making an integrated policy.
Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has given more than one lakh boxes to help farmers and unemployed youth beekeepers in less than two years. The commission has done this under 'Honey Mission'. Khadi Village Industries Department has started the Honey Mission Plan. Not only the farmers, but the unemployed youth is also adopting it to generate income.
