15,000 rupees should be given instead of Rs 6,000 in PM Kisan Yojana!
SwamiNathan Research Foundation on Monday suggested increasing the amount given by the central government under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme to Rs 15,000 per year to fight the coronavirus epidemic. Under this scheme, all farmers except those with higher income are given a total of Rs 6,000 per year in three equal installments of two thousand rupees directly in their accounts. Now a statement has been issued by the SwamiNathan Foundation, led by renowned agricultural scientist MS Swami Nathan, stating that currently the PM Kisan Yojana money is Inadequate to cover up the current losses and sowing the next crop." _x000D_
Apart from this, it has been said that the Department of Agriculture and Horticulture should take quick steps to market the perishable agricultural products like vegetables and fruits. The statement also said that the agricultural laborers are not getting enough employment opportunities in their villages and adequate security measures should be taken for them._x000D_
