Protecting Milch Cattle from External Parasites
External parasites live in the hair and skin of livestock and cause external damage. External parasites are either continually engaged in the body of an animal or stick to the body to obtain nutrition from time to time. Damage Caused by External Parasites Their bites lead to the dry skin and hair fall of the cattle. This further contributes to blood deficiency, stops eating and drinking, and decreases their milk production. Treatment Considering the presence, quantity and severity of external parasites, the following medications may be provided as recommended by the veterinarian. Precautions during Treatment 1. Ensure that the cattle drinks water before bathing with medications. 2. Bathe all the cattle in the group together. 3. In the cattle shed, spraying should be performed so the entire parasites can be fully controlled. Source: www.vetextension.com
