Learn to Build a Good Nursery for Vegetable Crops!!
Proper planting is crucial for the production and development of quality and healthy nurseries of vegetable crops. The place where you may not have the shade net as well as the Coco pit, plastic trays, and then prepare the beds by identifying the suitable place in the field. When selecting a spot, please note that there is no wet spot at the bottom of the tree or at the top of the dam. Plough the field before preparing the beds. Also remove the agricultural waste from the crop. Be careful that there are no stones in the soil. Keep a good mixture of farm yard manure in it while ploughing. Depending on the soil type, depth and slope, prepare a bed of at least 3 meters in length, 1 meter in width and 15 to 20 cm in height.
Every bed should be filled with 250 g of Single Super Phosphate, 150 g of Potash, 50 g of Urea and 30 g of Carbofuran granules. And, in those initial stages, the plants will grow well and be protected from fungi. After that, a gap of 5 cm between the beds, the seeds should be sown by dibbling. Be careful that the seeds are not more than 5 cm depth. This will not cause problems with the germination of the seeds. Upon sowing, water the bed with a water cane or a pump. Water should not be provided through flood irrigation. Otherwise, the seeds could be washed away. After that cover the gunny bags on it for two days and sprinkle the water over it. This process will help to germinate faster and better sprouting of crop. Spray insecticides such as Carbendazim @ 1g/litre and Mancozeb @ 2 g /litre, Thiamethoxam 0.25 g /litre per week to prevent several pests and disease from initial stage after germination. Also, for vigorous growth of plants and to build up resistance to biotic and abiotic stress, spraying Silicon@ 1 ml /litre as well as Chelated calcium @ 10 g per pump to improve crop growth. Based on the crop, for instance, Pepper, Tomato, Brinjal, Cabbage, Cauliflower, seeds germinate in 8-10 days. It is important to select a suitable plant for transplantation. Examples of such plants includes Chilli-35 days, Tomato-25 days, Pepper/Watermelon-18 days. Good quality plants must be selected for good growth, production, and strength.
